Welcome to the website of the Northern Ireland Veterans' Health & Wellbeing Study


The Northern Ireland Veterans’ Health and Wellbeing Study (NIVHWS) is a unique large scale tri-service (Army, Navy, & RAF) research project funded by the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) and the Big Lottery Fund. The study is being conducted by Prof Chérie Armour and a team of researchers from the Psychology Research Institute at Ulster University in partnership with the NI Veterans Support Committee (NIVSC). It will run for a period of five years; completing in 2020.


If you are a veteran/ex-Service personnel of the UK Armed Forces and currently live in Northern Ireland, you can complete our Northern Ireland Veterans' Health and Wellbeing Survey.

You are eligible if you served with Regulars or Reserves and no longer serve, BUT also if you served with Regulars in the past and now serve with the Reserves.
